Saju (四柱), meaning 'Four Pillars,' is a traditional fortune-telling system practiced for thousands of years across Korea, China, and Japan. It is based on four pillars derived from your birth year, month, day, and hour. Each pillar consists of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch, creating eight characters total — hence the full name 'Saju Palja' (四柱八字, Four Pillars Eight Characters).
These eight characters encode the Five Element energies — Wood (木), Fire (火), Earth (土), Metal (金), and Water (水) — along with Yin-Yang (陰陽) forces.
